Create .gif files using videos Easily
The Graphics Interchange Format or abbreviated as GIF, is one of the most popular formats on Internet for sharing small animations and videos. The format is almost universally used to support up to 8 bits per pixel, thus allowing a single image to reference a palette of up to 256 distinct colors chosen from the 24-bit RGB color space. So how do you create a GIF from a video?
QGifer is a freeware tool for Windows which allows you to easily and quickly create a GIF file from a video you have on your computer. It is an open-source application that enables you to extract a scene from a video file and save it as animated GIF image. You can select a video file from your PC and after you load your video file, you can use the built-in player to select the start/end frames of your animation.

There are few settings available in the app where you can customize the GIF file. You can select the start frame and end frame and also the dimensions of the GIF. There is also option to add text or image as overlay, so you can either watermark your GIF with text or an image.
Once you have selected the settings, you can hit the Extract GIF button and it renders the GIF file. The time taken depends on the amount of frames you select from the video. So it is better to keep the number of frames limited or else the GIF size will increase considerably. Here is a video demo of the tool and how to create a GIF using the tool.
The results from the app are pretty good and the rendering is also nice for a free tool. If you want to create GIF files for free, then this app is a must have tool.
